Data protection guidelines

BILSTEIN SERVICE GmbH (hereinafter referred to as „BILSTEIN“) processes personal data that is collected upon visiting on our websites, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the supplementary provisions under German law.

Our websites may contain links to websites of other providers for whom these data protection regulations do not apply.

BILSTEIN respects your right to privacy.

Where terms such as „personal data“, processing“ or „controller“ are used, these are intended to be understood as per the definitions set out in Article 4 of the GDPR.

  

Stored data and cookies

When you visit our websites, our web servers store the IP address of your Internet service provider, the website you came to us from, the BILSTEIN websites/pages you visit, as well as the ate and duration of your visit. 

It is not possible for us as a website operator to identify you based on the information we collect. BILSTEIN uses cookies to track user preferences and design our websites in the most effective way possible. 

  

What are cookies?

Cookies are very small files that are saved on your PC when you navigate through BILSTEIN websites. Cookies serve exclusively to distinguish your PC from concurrent visitors‘ PCs. Using cookies is unavoidable for us to be able to personalize the services on our websites. 

 

Are cookies dangerous?

Cookies do not represent a danger to your computer. Some companies that use this technology collect your data for market research and advertising purposes. Our cookies only serve for the purpose described above.

If you provide us with personal information, we will handle it responsibly and only use it for the purposes for which you approve its use by us.

Data transfer:

Where required for the delivery of services, your data will be shared with other companies within the BILSTEIN GROUP for the purpose for which it was collected. Your data shall not currently be shared with entities in non-EU countries which the EU does not deem to have an adequate level of data protection. Where this is required, for example, due to use of cloud services, BILSTEIN will take all the necessary measures to secure your data in that non-EU country, as prescribed by the GDPR. 

 

Duration of use:

We shall store your data for as long as we can assume there is potential interest on your part. When this is no longer the case, we will erase your information.

You have a right to appeal with the relevant local authority. There shall be no automated decision-making, including profiling, as a result of the data you share with us.

You are not obliged to provide us with your personal data. Where you do not wish to share your data, we will not be able to deliver the services for which the data processing was required. 

 

With regard to handling your data, the GDPR has provided us – the controller – with diverse requirements to ensure the security of this information, all of which we comply with using state-of-the-art technology.
