Spring Steels/Automotive

DIN EN 10132-4

Application: spiral spring

Application: recuperating spring
What do springs, washers, axial bearings, fasteners, clutches, seat belt tongues, and seat belt buckles have in common? Each one is produced using cold-rolled spring steel developed specifically for the end product. Special consideration needs to be given to shape and microstructure, in particular. In some cases it is essential to ensure that the steel can be easily formed, and its microstructure is well-suited for heat treatment. At other times, optimizing tool life and/or the surface finish is the priority. These requirements can only be delivered by pairing top-level knowledge of material science with first-rate cold-rolling expertise.

Tempered martensitic and bainitic steels, with decarburized surfaces on request, can be used for a wide variety of applications and ensure availability of the ideal base material for the relevant application. Tempered steels are available in a variety of colors, and with brushed, ground, and even polished finishes. Carefully machined edges round out our services.
